Anahita Temple in Kermanshah province
This temple belongs to the Seleucides (313 - 64 BC - ) and has
been built in Kangavar city. The architectural structure of this
temple is a combination of the Greek and Persian styles and as
its name suggests is related to Anahita, the daughter of Din
Mehr, who enjoyed a very high status with the ancient Iranians.
The temple is as old as 200 B.C. Today houses and streets have
been built on the surface of this monument and only part of the
temple has remained intact because it neighbors Imamzadeh
mosque.
